What a thrill to announce a Nonprofitunity original series: She Inspires Me, a digital intersection of philanthropy and amazing women in history.

The idea for this series has been a few years in the making. It led to books, videos, websites and even apps, plus a deeper discovery of not only strong, smart and brave women in history but the philanthropic movements their lives inspired. Women like Helen Keller, Christa McAuliffe, Rosa Parks, Rachel Carson and Anne Frank. (more…)

Window Washing Superheroes

Slide04It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Superman! And Spiderman. And Batman. And Captain America— all making a difference in the lives of some children while they clean windows at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.

Although this news is from Halloween time last year, it just appeared on my radar today thanks to the Twitter feed via Frank Ocean who shared: “Window washers at a children’s hospital – this deserves endless retweets.” Thank you for the inspiration Frank. (more…)

What a mixed bag of emotions it must be to face the loss of a loved one and the challenge of making their last wish come true. No matter how you feel about video consumption, the fact remains, our donors and potential donors are tuning in like never before. Using social media tools and email, video messages can spread like wild-fire. Online video can be used to turn viewers into advocates for and contributors to your organizations almost instantly.
